Sweetbox is a pop band that was formed in 1995 by producer GEO and since 2000, has been fronted by vocalist, Jade Villalon. Although generally belonging to the pop genre, Sweetbox incorporates many other sounds in its music, such as classical, rock, dance, rap, soul, acoustic, and country. To date, Sweetbox have sold over 3 million albums and 2 million singles worldwide.
In 2005, the music magazine FONO awarded Sweetbox the "No. 1 Cross-Border Artist” title, and two Sweetbox songs, “Addicted” and “Hate Without Frontiers” (turned to "World Without Frontiers”), were featured in a Japanese commercial for the Subaru Legacy.

Described as 'Enya Meets the Sugababes', Triniti are Laura 25, Sharon 22 and Eve 21. The trio combine lush vocal harmonies with sweeping strings and traditional Irish instrumentation. The album was recorded at the River, Ross Cullum's Studio in Battersea, London. Cullum is not stranger to both Irish Music Pop hit productions. He produced Enya's first hit album and has co-written and recorded with Moya Brennan, Dannii Minogue and Paul McCartney.

Sarah Brightman shows off the wild red patent platforms that match her wild feather-layered dress at the 2007 Classical Brit Awards.

On May 19th, The Phantom of the Opera star Sarah Brightman will perform to a capacity crowd of approximately 90,000 at the FA Cup Finals this Saturday. This event also marks the official opening of the new Wembley Stadium.

On June 2nd, she will perform a duet with Florent Pagny on the Tenue de Soiree show, with the Monaco royal family in attendance. The broadcast is scheduled for June 2nd on Channel France 2.

June 11th is the tentative release date for the French edition of "Diva: Sarah Brightman." This version has a different track list from "Diva: The Singles Collection," which was released worldwide (except Europe) last fall. The French edition will feature all-new photos with a decidedly European flair, as well as new duets with Florent Pagny, I Muvrini and Patrick Fiori. The Official Store will not be carrying this CD as it is a France-only release, but fans outside France who wish to purchase the CD may pre-order it at her official website. On July 1st, Brightman will be performing at the Princess Diana Memorial Concert at Wembley Stadium. This charity concert was organized by Prince William and Prince Harry to mark Princess Diana's 46th birthday, and the 10th anniversary of her death. The roster of internationally-acclaimed artists are favorites of Princess Diana and her sons. Performers include Sir Elton John, Rod Stewart, Kanye West, and P. Diddy, amongst many others. The event is expected to be broadcast live on BBC.

Brightman will also perform with Florent Pagny on "Vivement Dimanche". Channel France 2 is expected to be broadcasting the show (date to be announced later).

On July 7th, she will headline at Live Earth Shanghai. Live Earth is a series of concerts to be held across every continent on 07/07/07, over a 24-hour period. This unprecedented event will be held in London, New York, Sydney, Shanghai, Tokyo, Johannesburg, Rio de Janeiro, Hamburg and Istanbul. It will feature some of the planet's most accomplished artists, who have signed on, not only to raise funds, but to also raise the profile for environmental causes. Over 2 billion people are expected to watch this event live, on TV, radio and on the internet.

Brightman's duet with Chris Thompson, "I Will Be With You (Where The Lost Ones Go)" has been chosen to be the theme song for "Pokemon: Movie 10." The theatrical release of "Pokemon: Movie 10" in Japan is scheduled for July 14. The ballad and the movie will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Pocket Monsters movie franchise. "Pokemon: The First Movie" still holds the record for the highest overseas box office of any Japanese movie. The last 9 movies are reputed to have been seen by over 38 million attendees in Japan. Another Brightman song, "Time to Say Goodbye" with Andrea Bocelli, is also being currently featured in the movie, Blades of Glory, starring Will Ferrell.

Brightman's brand new song, "Running", was chosen as the official theme song for the 2007 IAAF Athletics Championship Games in Osaka, Japan. The song will be premiered at the opening ceremony on August 25 which will be broadcast in 200 countries. Brightman has also been appointed as IAAF's first Green Project Ambassador to help raise awareness for the global environment.

Best known for her breakout role in Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera, Sarah Brightman has sold over 25 million records, 2 million DVDs, and has played sold-out shows worldwide.

Hayley Westenra's new album Odyssey was always going to be a different proposition to Pure, the record-breaking 2003 collection which marked her international debut. A lot has happened to the young New Zealander over the past two or three years--and those changes are clearly reflected by a record which encapsulates her growth from a budding teenage prodigy into a mature young woman.

Now, at 18, Hayley is ready to show the world how much she has grown up, both as an artist and as an individual. Fans of Pure will be pleasantly surprised by her new album. Her wonderful voice retains its crystal-clear purity, but Westenra's singing is now richer and more rounded than before. Touring the world and singing in some of its greatest concert venues, such as the Sydney Opera House, Royal Albert Hall, and Carnegie Hall, has worked wonders for her confidence. Suitably emboldened, she has embraced an even wider range of musical styles including classical, hymns, folk and pop.

"I was happy with Pure at the time, but I've moved on so much," says Hayley. "It's really exciting to have something new out there for people to listen to. I wanted to make a record that represented me as a person. And I think I've improved as a vocalist."

Variety is certainly one of the keywords with Hayley's new album. When she first entered a recording studio in New Zealand as a 12-year-old, Westenra restricted herself to classical pieces and show tunes. Now, in addition to impressive takes on classical works, Hayley uses her new album to perform an inspired cover of Joni Mitchell's "Both Sides Now" and has arranged and written much of the material. "I like to push myself, and I'm now confident enough to try different things. I have been much more involved behind the scenes with this album--I wanted to put my individual stamp on each song."

With her career stretching out promisingly before her, Hayley is also keen to continue experimenting. She is still primarily a classical crossover artist but she also wants to keep broadening those musical horizons. Three years after her international debut CD, Hayley Westenra is still pure: she exudes pure quality and she remains pure class--but her musical journey continues with her new album Odyssey.

ASELIN DEBISON

Aselin Debison is a Canadian pop/Celtic singer, sometimes known affectionately as Azi, either by herself or her fanbase.

Born in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, Aselin was named after Aslan, the lion in C. S. Lewis' Chronicles of Narnia. She began her singing career in 1999, when she was asked to sing at a rally of protesting miners in her hometown. Soon after this performance she began working on a Christmas album The Littlest Angel which was released in 2001. In 2002, she was spotted by Sony Classical president Peter Gelb at the East Coast Music Awards. Her debut album Sweet is the Melody appeared that same year.

In 2003, Aselin Debison was chosen to sing for Queen Elizabeth II at the Roy Thomson Hall in Toronto, Ontario, during her visit to Canada for her Jubilee celebration.

Aselin sang with country music artist Bruce Guthro on a CBC special entitled "Aselin Debison: Sweet is the Melody". She performed selections from her debut album and also classic Cape Breton Island songs, such as the Island's anthem. During her tour to promote "Sweet Is The Melody," she performed in New York and Tokyo, Japan.

One track from the Sweet is the Melody; Aselin's cover of the distinctive Israel Kamakawiwo'ole medley arrangement Somewhere Over the Rainbow/What a Wonderful World, became widely popular in Korea and Japan. Thanks to its inclusion in soft pop compilation albums such as Sony Music Korea/Splash Music's 2003 Crossover Romance, it became a firmly established element of ambient music in many parts of east Asia. Several other tracks from Sweet is the Melody were also included in Korean and Japanese pop compilations.

In March 2005 Aselin released her second album, Bigger Than Me, and the singles Life and Faze have been popular on light rock/pop radio. Whereas Aselin's early recordings consisted of cover versions, for Bigger Than Me she wrote the material herself along with assistance from Dave Thomson (co-founder of teen pop band Wave) and producer Thomas "Tawgs" Salter (initially renowned as a member of the 1990's Canadian rock band Dunk). Her change of style from Celtic pop to a more pop/rock sound has been successful, and she continues to be a popular and an increasingly well known singer/songwriter. Canadian Prime Minister Jean Chrétien has hailed Aselin as the next Céline Dion.

jocelyn pook - flood

Jocelyn Pook composes music for film, television, theatre, dance and the concert platform. Since graduating in 1983 from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where she studied the viola, she has also toured and recorded extensively with many leading names in rock, pop and classical music, both as a soloist and with her ensemble the Electra Strings. She has collaborated with a diverse range of artists, including The Communards, Laurie Anderson, Massive Attack, Ryuichi Sakamoto and Peter Gabriel.

Her original score for Stanley Kubrick’s Eyes Wide Shut established her as a highly original composer of screen music. In 2004 she scored the The Merchant of Venice, directed by Michael Radford, with Al Pacino in the role of Shylock. The soundtrack CD was released on Decca Classics in November 2004 and was nominated for a Classical Brit Award in May 2005. Dionysus, the first track on Untold Things, her 2001 CD, features in Martin Scorsese’s Gangs of New York. Jocelyn has composed music for several French feature films including Laurent Cantet’s Time Out (L’emploi du temps), Comment j’ai tué mon père, directed by Anne Fontaine and Wild Side directed by Sebastien Lifshitz. Jocelyn’s most recent score is for Paul Marcus’s re-make of the classic children’s story Heidi, released in the UK in August 2005.

Her most recent TV scores are for The Government Inspector, Peter Kosminsky’s drama-documentary for Channel 4 about the last days of the MoD scientist David Kelly, and for Death On The Staircase, the eight-part documentary directed by Jean-Xavier Lestrade, about the trial of American writer Michael Peterson for the murder of his wife. Jocelyn co-wrote with Harvey Brough the music for the BBC2 ten-part drama series In A Land Of Plenty. For S4C, she wrote the music for Saints and Sinners, a six-part documentary series about the history of the papacy, shown in more than twenty countries.

Jocelyn’s 1994 piece Blow the Wind / Pie Jesu, a setting of Kathleen Ferrier’s Blow the Wind Southerly against the contemporary voice of Melanie Pappenheim, became a crossover hit when it was used by Orange for their TV advertising campaign in 1997. Subsequently, her debut album Flood was released on Virgin.

The Jocelyn Pook Ensemble has presented performances of repertoire from Untold Things and from her film scores in Germany, France, Italy, Poland, Czech Republic and Slovenia, touring the UK on the Contemporary Music Network in 2001. Her most recent music-theatre work Speaking in Tunes toured in the UK between 2002 and 2004 and Jocelyn received the Composer of the Year Award for Multi-Media in the British Composer Awards of 2003.

Recent notable commissions for dance include Phantasmaton for the Shobana Jeyasingh Dance Company and for Darshan Singh Bhuller’s Requiem performed by the Phoenix Dance Company. Jocelyn has also composed music for two theatre shows by Bobby Baker, Box Story in 2001 and How To Live, recently premiered at the Barbican in London.

feist - the reminder

Feist is the solo project of Canada's Leslie Feist, a prolific artist who has also played in one capacity or another with Broken Social Scene, Kings of Convenience and half a dozen other bands. The Reminder, her third release, comes from the same well of quiet, appealing songwriting, and delicate vocalizations that made 2004's Let It Die such a sweet treat. This one is a bit more hushed and ballad heavy, closer to Cat Power than Peaches (with whom Feist has also worked with in the past) but maintains an indie-minded blend of confessional pop, jazzy folk, and lo-fi torch songs. The comparatively upbeat single "My Moon My Man" splits her voice off into unexpected harmonies, just dissonant enough to stick in your head. It's hard to predict where her melodies are going to end up; "Brandy Alexander" starts with a simple snap-pulse, and gradually unfolds into a cathartic chorus of sweeping vocal overlays. Throughout, the record profits from a simple, unfussy aesthetic that keeps the production minimal and the emphasis squarely on Feist's cracking, wistful vibrato. Everything sounds deliberate, but not obsessed over, like an e-mailed wedding invitation. It's a low-pressure vibe, welcoming and content to linger. And linger you will. --Matthew Cooke (Amazon.com)

Andrea has been an award-winning lead actress on stage in her local area of Boston, Massachusetts since the age of 8 years old. At age 13 she was discovered by Andrew Lloyd Webber who decided to champion her career and launch her as his protégée with a debut CD recording in 2007.
